Our Response to Feedback
We received a huge amount of very useful feedback during our public consultation. We have taken this feedback on board and made changes to the scheme where possible.
- We are maintaining and enhancing access to Bromley Palace Park for all – not just the future residents.
- We have reduced building heights from 6-7 storeys to a maximum of 5.
- We have ‘pulled back’ the building lines of the new development, to bring them into line with the Old Palace.
- We have changed the name of the proposed development, from Bromley Palace Park to Bishops Place – ensuring the park retains its unique identity.
- We are planning a new woodland trail, in place of the mews housing previously proposed.
- Residents made it clear that they were keen to seen public use of the Old Palace, and we are proposing this for the ground floor of the building.
- New landscaping and other boundary treatment will ensure access remains controlled – keeping the area safe and secure.
- We will be providing infrastructure for Friends of Bromley Palace Park to help their volunteers carry on their work.
- We are exploring the opportunity to contribute to the refurbishment of the Heritage At Risk structures within the grounds of Bromley Palace Park.
